Russell completed his undergraduate studies in Health Science and Public Health at Brigham Young University – Idaho where he graduated with honors. He then obtained a Master’s in PA medicine at Idaho State University where he was chosen to receive the Student Excellence Award. PA Singleton then earned the Doctor of Medical Science in Primary Care Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University and was selected by his peers to receive the DMS Advocate Award. While a doctoral student, his research focused on chronic pain and temporomandibular joint disorder.
Russell began his medical career in the Magic Valley working in family and rural medicine. As an undergrad, he worked with the Eastern Idaho Public Health District and has spent time volunteering with regional hospitals and free clinics as well as the Red Cross. He has also served as adjunct faculty at Brigham Young University – Idaho, teaching courses in Communicable and Noncommunicable Disease, and is currently Affiliate Faculty at Idaho State University. He has precepted both PA, NP, and medical students.
Nationally certified by the NCCPA, he is an active member of the Idaho Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of PAs, the Academy of Doctoral PAs, and is an alumnus of the National Health Service Corps.
Russell enjoys urgent care, diabetes management, mental health, and diseases of the skin. His care philosophy is founded on patient autonomy and responsibility. He sees his role in medicine and life as working to reduce the suffering of others.
When not in the clinic, Russell enjoys music, family, and being outdoors. He also speaks fluent Spanish.
